Perhaps Juan McCartney of Guardian Radio 96.9 might now offer his apologies to the Bahamian people for scare-mongering, by going off half-cocked over this sewerage dumping matter.
Now a fuller picture has emerged concerning dumping of sewerage by Carnival ships. It has been revealed that international agreements state sewerage dumping can only happen beyond three miles from land, Carnival claim they have a self-imposed limit of twelve miles.
Also, we are advised, the sewerage dumped on this occasion was, in fact, treated sewerage and quite safe to the environment and humans.
