In this post I indicated that I am of the view that the dispensing of justice is not compatible with victimization and unfair treatment.
Today, and for the rest of my life however long that may be, I will believe that my considered and confirmed conviction that justice is incompatible with victimization and unfairness. Whether I am proven correct or incorrect, if I am dead, the ants will bring it to my grave.
If Michelle Reckley and crew were committing the crimes with which they are now charged, it is an inditement on the system of governance that was in vogue at the time the offences were committed!
The government of the day was ultimately responsible for ensuring that the requisite systems of checks and balances were in place and rigidly observed by all who had providential responsibility for public funds.
If Michelle Reckley and crew are guilty of the crimes that they have allegedly committed, then let the chips fall where they may!
On the other hand, it does not give the agents of the present government the right or the authority to act with recklessness in carrying out their duties.
I still support the view that Lady Justice is blind, and those who act at her behest must execute the principles and tenets espoused by her based upon the fact that she is indeed blind. Justice has much to do with mercy. As Shakespeare wrote in the Merchant of Venice, "The quality of mercy is not strained; It droppeth as the gentle rain from the heaven upon the place beneath..."
However, in the service of Justice with mercy, once guilt or innocence is established through a fair trial, the guilty must pay the price or the innocent must be set free...In this case, the jury, though not convened, is still out.
The reasonable and those who believe, that one is innocent until proven guilty, will withhold judgement until the jury is convened, listens to the evidence, and draws its conclusion...
The unreasonable and those who do not respect Lady Justice and mercy will pass judgement long before the jury is convened, listens to the evidence, and draws its conclusion...
I yield the floor to all reasonable men and women of goodwill who are dedicated to the pursuit of justice and mercy for all regardless of their station in life...
