I have to ask if my brothers and sisters, with a darker skin-tone and who originated from the African continent, seriously believe they were the only ones to suffer the indignity and horror of enslavement? Sorry, but I must enlighten you; slavery has been around since a couple of generations after Adam!
All dynasties, through-out time, grew with the use of unwilling, entrapped labour. I find this idea of “reparations” just a little ludicrous, yes I’m white and born a Briton, that being said I want the British government to say, “yes we will pay reparations from the reparations we receive from Rome!”
For those too wrapped up in this current silliness and have not learnt, Britons were slaves to the Roman Empire in the first couple of centuries AD.
By the way are the families and tribes in Africa also being hounded to pay reparations; since they are the ones who sold their tribe-members to the British slaving ships in the first place?
Something else which seems to be conveniently forgotten, in the 1600’s slavery was quite legal and only legislated against in the early 1800’s, which movement was started by … the British!
Of course slavery, in some form or other, is still practiced to this day!
Trying to right wrongs.
