This never-ending saga of the Post Office has gone from the sublime to the seriously ridiculous, we are now hearing that, under some, quirky paragraph in the post office act, the authorities have the right to shred unsorted mail!?!? This normally quite placid Bahamian is not at all happy with this. This means I have now lost at least two bank credit cards, a dividend cheque and all my other mail being shredded on a whim.
May I make a suggestion? The new Central Bank building is to be started … soon …? Would it not be possible to add a wing to that building for the Post Office, both entities need full security and vault facilities and the new American Embassy will be started soon adding even more security to the area? There would be no internal linkage between the buildings, but, most importantly we, the people, would have our main Post Office still in the centre of town.
How much longer will we have to live with this stupidity?
