Anything that can be done to slow and prevent the incidence of pedestrians hurt in traffic mishaps is to be applauded; however the imposition of the new light system by the University on Thompson Boulevard is, I regret to say, an unmitigated disaster for that traffic. During the peak morning rush-hour when heading north on Thompson you will now meet the tail-back of standstill vehicles by the Rubis gas station; and for the evening rush, south bound traffic will be stopped almost at the light at Meadow Street, and, of course, the lunch period is just as bad; sorry but a better idea has to be worked out; perhaps a footbridge, of course, then the pedestrian has to be “encouraged” to use it!
