Every so often the argument is presented, usually in highly charged emotional language, that our natural resource of Aragonite is being "stolen" from under our noses by special interests.
Searching for details on the what, where and whom, substantial information is scant. And it appears the only Bahamian that was trying to mine Aragonite can't make it pay. In fact, nothing of substance in support of the position that this resource is so valuable and being stolen can be found.
Besides if it's that lucrative wouldn't investors be lining up to give it a go?
The only reasoned discussion I've come across is from the late Larry Smith in his Tough Call column of January 17, 2017. Download Aragonite Again! by Larry Smith pdf here...
The other document that Larry shared on his Facebook page was the Olsen Aragonite Beachfill at Fisher Island in the Shore & Beach Journal from 1992. Download Olsen Aragonite Beachfill at fisher island pdf here...
Is there any substantive information that this natural resource is being given away or stolen from under our very noses?
