Dr. Hubert Minnis, Prime Minister under the new FNM Government laid waste to what, if the allegations are true, appears to have become a PLP Kleptocracy.
The padded contracts, the Baha Mar papers, work permits and on and on are nothing short of sickening.
For a political party that staked its reputation on helping the poor and were supposedly concerned about Bahamians the allegations leveled make those words very shallow.
An utter disgrace.
Back on June 17 I asked how the PLP could sleep after the allegations at that point. After Tuesday's futher expose by Dr. Minnis in his closing budget speech I'm sure the current members of the PLP Oppostion are ashamed of what their party came to represent.
As Ayn Rand said: "When you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice, you may know that your society is doomed."
With that in mind it seems a long way back for the PLP and The Bahamas.
I do sense shame among some PLP supporters, but await contrition from its leaders.
