We had a weekend full of entertainment. First was Damon Johnson at Pirate Republic on Friday, and Clybourne Park at the “Dundas” on Saturday. Life is wonderful to begin with, but when it’s punctuated with great music and a wonderful play, does it get any better?
Ring play Productions produced a fast paced, poignant version of Bruce Norris’ play, Clybourne Park that was directed by none other than the Bahamas own filmmaker Kareem J. Mortimer.
The performances by Nicole Fair Bhatti, Graham Thordarson, Aulenna Robinson, Roseanne Deal, Matthew Kelly, D. Sean Nottage and julia Wooley Chatwin were just wonderful.
How the heck they remembered all those lines to deliver them in such a fast paced performance was inspiring.
Nicole Fair Bhatti stood out to me in both the roles she played as did D. Sean Nottage in his two roles. But the characters Bev and Karl in particular would drive me around the bend.
We are lucky to have these folks volunteer their time and energy for our entertainment.
Thanks to the Dundas and Ringplay for keeping plays alive. They are deserving of much praise.
