The National Budget of The Bahamas requires a thorough cost benefit analysis, but taking a look at the tax dollars spent on education (Department and Ministry combined) alone is an eye opener.
The budget for 2013 - 2014 totaled $231 million dollars - the average examination grade for all school leavers was something like a D-.
The budget for 2014 - 2015 was $243 million - the average examination grade for all school leavers remained something like a D-.
The budget for 2015 - 2016 increased to $264 million - will the average examination grade for all school leavers still be something like a D-?
In other words, over a three year period the government will have spent $738 million (3/4 of a billion dollars) with no improvement in results. Shocking.
This is a travesty for future generations and yet few seem to care.

Taxpayers and citizens are held accountable by laws and regulations. Why does the Government and its bureaucracies get a pass?
