Bradley Roberts, chairman of the governing PLP added to the jousting match over allegations of conflict of interest by the attorney general threatening to reveal details of a contract between the leader of the opposition and the government.
Roberts tit for tat behaviour is nothing more than an attempt to silence critics of his party, by suggesting they are just as bad as each other.
In other words if Dr. Minnis had kept quiet about Mrs Maynard-Gibson's possible conflict, Mr. Roberts would not have kept quiet about his potential conflict.
How juvenile.
Of course nothing of any formal nature will be done to resolve the allegations against either party. It will all be left hanging in case it's needed to embarrass both people during the upcoming election campaign.
If either party or any MP's meant to deal with this so there is a clear cut path to take in the years ahead, they would present a Private Member's Bill outlining what constitutes unethical behavior in matters like this so the pubic is not continually duped by political rhetoric.
A good first step toward transparency would be for the Government to list the details of all its rental contracts in the Gazette annually. And if they won't do that, the Opposition should demand it.
The banality of it all is distressing.
