It appears Mr. Christie, of late, has been quite worried what his legacy for future Bahamians might be; I can tell him not to worry, he has presided over, allegedly, one of the most corrupt governments this tiny Nation has ever experienced. It is also very worrying when another nation decides to select one of your more questionable decisions and copy it for home consumption; I refer, of course, to Mr. Christie’s referendum screw-up, when he decided that a binding referendum was, in fact, merely an opinion poll!
Now, a country almost on the other side of the globe, Greece, the home of democracy, has opted for the same decision. Greece held a referendum recently to ask its people whether Greece should accept stringent austerity measures to gain substantial “bail-out” monies from the European Union, after a resounding “No” vote the Greek Prime Minister returned to Brussels and accepted even tougher measures to obtain his needed funding!
Just wondering when all the stupidity will stop?
