You might remember this post where I suggested Dr. Kendal Major (PLP), Speaker of the House of Assembly is an honourable man who I thought would allow the presentation of the Auditor General's Report on Urban Renewal.
He now argues that the procedural errors forbid him allowing the presentation of the report and debate.
I'm sorry but this flunks the smell test and I believe the speaker was brow beaten into that position given his earlier comments on the matter.
That aside, it appears the alleged procedural errors are now being used to thwart the investigation and if this government is as serious about accountability as they claimed to be while in opposition, they would move to correct matters so the report can be tabled and debated.
I still believe Dr. Major is a man of integrity who will work on finding a way to have the Auditor General's report on Urban Renewal presented to Parliament so it can be debated.
Just WHEN he will do that is the million dollar question.
