A Parliamentary probe into BEC bribery allegations is important, but it occurs to me that an alleged bribe of $330,000 is a criminal matter?
As The Nassau Guardian points out, the Deputy Chairman of BEC resigned when Cabinet did not follow their advice on where to buy the generator he took such umbrage on their decision.
Mr. J. Barrie Farrington, Chairman of BEC at the time, is also rightly pushing for an investigation, suggesting enough time has now passed that the public should have been apprised who the guilty person is and what steps are being taken.
I really hope this is not another matter that will just be swept under the rug by the government.
One has to wonder if Mr. Roberts political party was the government when this occurred if he would be calling for an investigation?
