During the past week or so we have been hearing a great deal about a certain Mr. Renwood Wells and why he had signed a particular document. Our Prime Minster has, at great pains, pointed that he has no idea why Mr. Wells should have signed this document and that Mr. Wells should explain himself to the people.
Err … just a minute … surely I remember another senior member in the House no other than the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Works - now for those who have not been following the story, the very same ministry that the above-mentioned Mr. Wells also worked for, now back to the plot – the DPM had stated that he had done an in depth investigation into this matter, including discussing with the same Mr. Wells. We were further lead to believe that Mr. Wells had told the full story to the DPM and that the DPM understood why Mr. Wells had acted as he did, but added the caveat that he, the DPM, would not have handled the matter in that way. We, the people, were also told that this full report had been handed to the Prime Minister, who announced to the nation that he, the Prime Minister, would read the report fully and advise the populace “shortly.”
Ignoring the fact that we are now some 7 or 8 weeks since “shortly”. Umm… if the DPM had a full report of the situation, including a reason for actions taken and that report has been handed to the Prime Minister, who promised to read that same report, why is our Prime Minister now saying that he has no idea why Mr. Wells acted as he did?
