According to news reports (The Tribune, Wednesday, September 24, 2014) PLP Chairman Bradley Roberts has told Dr. Rollins to "put up or shut up" over the Renward Wells Letter of Intent controversy.
The issue is not Dr. Rollins and how the PLP "brought him in from the cold" or not being "a team player." It is about possible impropriety by our government or one of its political appointees.
It seems rather than raising the standards of government, many in the PLP would rather obfuscate and distract.
Regretfully some of the top brass of the PLP, like its chairman, lead the pack in trying to hide the facts in this matter.
They've already said Mr. Wells should not have signed the waste to energy deal for the dump, yet there the case sits, without a full and proper report to the Bahamian taxpayer.
It's okay for private citizens or businesses to waste their money. It's theirs. But when tax dollars are in play, there must be a higher standard of accountability.
By the way, I wonder why Mr. Roberts didn't threaten Mr. Leslie Miller when he threatened to "out" some folks on this very same subject, if I remember correctly?
I'm afraid all the bluster and name calling does not sit well with taxpayers like it used to.
The ball is in your court to root out possible corruption and malfeasance by your party officials in government Mr. Roberts whether you think so or not.
Pointing your finger, shouting and screwing your face up at or about Dr. Rollins does not solve the problem he's taking about.
