Memphis Slim - Song of the week - August 25, 2014 - Rock and Rolling The House

Memphis Slim (John Len Chatman) (September 3, 1915 - February 24, 1988), was quite an accomplished singer/songwriter/pianist and his music was a mix of blues, vintage R & B and swinging jazz.

I came across Rock and Rolling the House on his Paris Missippi Blues compilation, a two CD set that my wife found for me, and it is great fun.

This is a live version with a fabulous stand up bass solo.
