The general election is just a few days away, and the events of the past couple days are enough to make one feel a little down for the future of our country.
We've come too far to allow ourselves to be drawn into rank emotionalism when deciding how to cast our ballot for those charged with the very serious responsibility of running the government.

Which one lays a more specific path? I know which one I think does that for me.
One more thought. In a recent editorial BahamasB2B.com asks: "Are Red, Gold and Green Making You Blue?"
Their closing suggestion is that we all think about the the following quote from James Freeman Clarke, the famous abolitionist, when we're getting ready to cast our vote:
“A politician thinks of the next election; a statesman of the next generation. A politician looks for the success of his party; a statesman for that of his country. The statesman wishes to steer, while the politician is satisfied to drift.”
I second that motion.
