The PLP have repeated the mantra that the FNM have so gutted their prized Urban Renewal program that The Ministry of Labour and Social Services recently released this letter to the editor to refute them.
Listening to the rhetoric, one would believe the Urban Renewal program was working wonders and if only the government hadn't closed all the offices down and slashed the budget to almost zero crime would not exist.
Well it turns out, according to the government agency responsible, over $14 million has been budgeted and one assumes spent on Urban Renewal from 2006 through the 2012 Budget, and New Providence now has 9 Centres (instead of 8) and offices on Grand Bahama have grown from 6 to 7.
My Father always told me that in politics it's who says it the loudest and the longest that is beleived around here. And it seems that enough people were believing the PLP's intellectual dishonesty on this issue that the Civil Servants had to set the record straight.
There are enough legitimate issues for the PLP to use for their upcoming election campaign that they shouldn't have to make stuff up.
But what am I talking about, this is politics right?
Well I don't buy that and intellectual dishonesty is not a trait that is admirable in my not so humble opinion.
