The Ride for Hope Bahamas web site tells us:
"We ride because we can! and to help and inspire others who cannot. We ride to raise money; with each mile pedaled dollars come in and every single one of those dollars is donated to cancer caring centers and cancer treatment programs." [More...]
The Ride for Hope Bahamas was formally established in 2009 (the rides actually started in 2006) and my friend Ken Chaplin, a cancer survivor, has taken part in every Ride for Hope charity bike ride and has gradually worked up from riding 30 miles the first year to 80 last year.
This year Ken's goal is to top that that by riding the complete 100 miles on April 9, 2011, making this his first century ride ever.
Likewise his fundraising has climbed over the years and this year he wants to match his first century ride with achieving at least $10,000 in monies raised.
Ken is training for the ride and you can assist by sending him encouraging e-mails by clicking here, but where you can really help is by sending him sponsorship.
Please send your generous cheque payable to Ride for Hope to Ken Chaplin at PO Box N 531 Nassau Bahamas.
Too busy right now?....no worries just send a pledge by return e-mail by clicking here and Ken will follow up.
Any amount is good ...just make your pledge now.
For details of the event go to Ride for Hope Bahamas for sponsor forms and lots of other details.
One sponsor dared Ken to wear a red thong and promised to double his sponsor dollars if he did. Of course Ken did! See below.
