One of the busiest intersections on the island of Nassau is the one at Village road and Shirley street and it has been without functioning traffic lights for more than two weeks.
Perhaps the government operates according to a quota - there has to be x number of reported accidents before it will be fixed or the person assigned to fix this particular one is on vacation or he just has not "gotten around to it" yet.
There was a rumour circulating about a year ago that a company had been given a contract to keep all the lights functioning. If that is true then it is time that the contract is canceled.
Lives are at risk every day at that intersection and many others.
