The problem I have with the idea of a Ministry of Commerce is that it is an extrapolation of the ruinous theme that has failed us as a people for decades:
The Government cannot think for us, strive for us, or produce anything whatsoever for us.
All they have been doing, is making available to some of us the stuff they have taken from others of us when what they should be doing, as per the laws of the land, is providing certain basic functional services to all of us. Enabling services.
What we really need is government to back off, out of their typically interfering "NO" orientated cumbersome lethargy, and let human initiative strive, the way it has strived for centuries until governments mess it up.
On the face of it, they Micromanage. It seems like a good idea, a Commerce Ministry, until you realize that not a single one of the people who would "staff" or "administer" have any clue as to how anything they dream up will impede a single souls success.
“I’m from the Government and I’m here to help” should horrify us all.
Neither could a single one of them make it in the private sector.
Obviously we are continuing to circle the wagons around the same failed premises that can only fail repeatedly.
The old saying that "you can lead a horse to water, but cannot make him drink" is apropos especially when you consider this: Even in the face of all the government obstacles, all the political hoops, we still have a few entrepreneurs who succeed, from time to time.
Without help.
On their own initiative.
Yes, it could, and perhaps should be easier for bona fide's to borrow, to progress from idea to product, but for that to happen, we need strong law enforcement, decent lean laws, accountability from all sides.
Our Legal system is the first and foremost disaster requiring remedial help.
Consider this:
If we were to remove completely and officially the Constitution and rule of law, not much would change.
If we remove all of the micromanagement and extraneous “procedure” and non-lawful controls, we would have a hope of surviving our own self created folly.
