Each day, whether we realize it or not, we fight a battle with crime. It affects are everyday life. Where we go, what we do, and how we do it. We live behind our bars, roll up are car windows, and keep out of certain areas.
In addition, we fight the frustration of successive Governments that have repeatedly failed to address the court system, back log of cases, and a review of our laws. All while it seems the minority of criminals are winning and we are losing.
Then one day you pick up the paper and see that at least in one case, justice has been served. Today's Tribune reports of two dangerous criminals that escaped from the Central Police Station yesterday. They are charged with rape, armed robbery, abduction, and receiving. On top of this, they made the decision to escape while locked up, whether on their own or by way of assistance. Are they guilty? What do you think?
One was shot dead, the other taken back into custody. We no longer have to feed, cloth, house, and cover the court cost for one, only for him to get out on bail continuing his ravage on society.
Finally some justice in this town!!
