"Those are the terms we are offering. We are not negotiating at all." Algernon Cargill
Mr. Algernon Cargill, Director of the National Insurance Board (NIB) has decided that he's not waiting for the Bahamas Pharmaceutical Association (BPA) to get back to him to negotiate the terms of the governments new free drug programme. He's signing contracts directly with the pharmacies according to this news story.
That being the case, one is inclined to believe that the NIB sent the proposal to the BPA for no more than "window dressing".
If you ever have to deal with the government, they're not interested in dealing with you one on one. They want your association to come.
In this case, the association be damned! We've got to have this in place for the next election, so we cannot have discussions that might slow this process down, now don't we?
How inconsistent is the government? Well, let me count the ways...
