Mr. Al Jarrett, PLP supporter and former banker was quoted in The Tribune Business of February 23, 2010 as saying that during 2002- 2007 the Christie Administration "created something he described as "responsible debt", and expanded the size of government through increased national income derived from foreign direct investment activities, as opposed to borrowing."
It's intriguing how people in different political parties see the results of the policies of their government. Somehow, it's always the other guys policies that do the damage.
But here's an interesting stat. During the 2002- 2007 PLP reign as the government, a period of unprecedented economic growth, according to the PLP, and according to the following numbers from The Bahamas Central Bank, the deficit never once got below $100 million.
