Mr. G. Han wrote to me in a private e-mail:
It seems that you really dont like this country - all you do is complain about matters that exist with government systems all over the world, whether conservative or liberal or what ever name or ideology you can think of that governs countries around the world.
Make the best of what exists - provide real solutions to the officials if there is something to be improved and if no change is made - vote the governing part out.
Your complaints appear to be deep rooted - for reasons I dont know but it shines through your tone and style of writing....
So your not so humble blogger had to respond:
Thank you for your e-mail Mr. Han.
In fact I love this country very much so am prepared to put my thoughts and concerns as well as recommended policies in the public domain for discussion.
Regretfully, far too many people silently go about ignoring public or government policy becuase it is their party in power.
I cannot do that as I sincerely fear for future generations if we continue the way we are going.
You are corrrect about my complaining about government systems here and abroad. Examine their track record and what the citizens are saddled with.
Consider the results in education for a moment. How about the national debt/fiscal policy? How about a bankrupt National Insurance?
There is not much to be proud of these days.
It is a sad commentary on our beautiful country.
Mr. Han's follow up response:
Sometimes in a blog atmosphere a little antagonistic thread helps with participation and activitiy on the blog itself ... I love this blog... as it gives me the ability to share some ideas on our government ... hope to meet you all one day !!
Hopefully Mr. Han will share more comments with us. The point about it all is the discussion is good, even if we disagree.
