The law-abiding citizens are angry, and frustrated. It really says something about a country when there has to be so much time wasted on debating marital rape. A husband forces himself on his wife, without her consent, he has committed rape - punish him and punish him to the extent that he will think long and hard before he does it again.
If it is the rape of a child the punishment should be no less than castration. The idea of these perverts spending some time in jail and then being released to rape another child is stupid. We have wasted far too much time talking about rehabilitation, which does not happen. We are either serious about stopping these dastardly acts or we are not.
Let us ignore the entreaties of Amnesty International and get on with administering capital punishment so we can be sure that those who have had such callous regard for other human beings are no longer fit to breathe the same air that normal people breathe and can start counting their last days.
We need to get serious about getting the message to Bahamians that animals feel pain and suffer, they have emotions - they can be sad and they can be very joyful. They are very loyal to those who treat them well. We have too many Michael Vick's in the Bahamas and it is time the police get serious about the cock fighting and dog fighting that is taking place in the Bahamas and I have been reliably informed that some police officers know that it does. Once again, for those who mistreat animals let's make the punishment fit the crime.
While on the subject of dogs, I have wondered what kind of depraved mind would steal a family pet, leaving the family devastated because their dog is essentially a part of their family and it is stolen just to be sold for a few dollars. Being a dog lover myself, should I be in a position to administer the sentence of the culprit he would never see the light of day again.
Let us get serious Mr. Prime Minister. Our time is short before our Bahamian society implodes and the criminals will be in charge or have we already passed that point?
