Whenever I come back form a holiday it's fun to read through the newspapers that arrived in my absence, but The Tribune of Wednesday, August 12, 2009, left me feeling a little cold for two reasons.
1. Mrs. Gibson, PLP Senator, reported that "In less than six months we have had more than the total rapes and attempted rapes reported for 2008". And
2. Why are the crime statistics not being reported in a timely manner by the FNM government?
I realise that maybe the government is concerned that they will be blamed for not getting things under control, but unless we begin to hold ourselves publicly accountable, how do expect to begin the slow and painful process of fighting the demons among us?
What do you think?
