The sudden death of the great journalist and host of 'Meet the Press' Tim Russert is shocking. I recall flipping through the television channels yesterday and being absolutely stunned, and even overcome with a sense of lost, to learn that such a model journalist and family man had met his untimely demise.
As a avid viewer of 'Meet the Press', whether at 10am on Sunday or later that day at 3pm on MSNBC, I feel as if I've come to know this journalistic giant from afar. Tim Russert was fair, fearless, well researched and a man who exuded the highest levels of integrity.
Undoubtedly, my Sunday mornings/afternoons will be less exciting; undoubtedly, political punditry and the upcoming US presidential elections has lost one of the brightest, most respected analysts to grace the media/political landscape. His death unquestionably is an enormous loss. Yesterday, we surely lost one of the 100 most influential people in the world.......
As a member of the media fraternity, my heartfelt condolences go out to his family and all those, near and far, that may have been affected by this phenomenal gentleman.
