Anyone that reads this blog would know immediately that I have very little respect for Fidel Castro and his economic policies or his human rights record.
Likewise I am not enthused about the human rights record of say Augusto Pinochet, but his economic record is another matter.
Pinochet stepped down voluntarily, to free elections, and left an economy that was growing and a people that remain free of a dictator, at least so far. Exactly the opposite of the Castro regime.
What is your view on this subject?
