I received a phone call earlier this week from a very polite lady informing me that it was time for NIB's annual audit of my account for our housekeeper.
Having just gone through this process last year when it was uncovered that I had not paid a couple months and NIB had not applied a couple payments, my back was immediately up.
I knew my account was up to date and see no need for another review.
The lady very politely explained that this was an annual process and she had to meet with me.
I declined and invited NIB to take me to court if I was in arrears.
Of course I did not miss the opportunity to suggest that the NIB should spend valuable time collecting from, or harassing those many people that they claim do not pay.
In reality, NIB is slouching toward bankruptcy and in all probability will not be with us in the year 2025 unless some drastic action is taken, according to the NIB's own actuarial study.
Wasting time on my account, that is current, is absurd.
Get ready for your call for your "annual audit" from the NIB.
