One often hears the assertion that Ronald Reagan was not very astute, but as far back as 1960's he understood what a destructive force Socialised Medicine would be and he states his case quite eloquently in the following YouTube presentation.
There is no video because the speech was a long play record sent out by the American Medical Association in 1961.
I note in today's Tribune that Dr. Hubert Minnis, Minister of Health advised that the FNM is now considering a socialized health care program. One can only hope that he will listen to this clip before proceeding too far.
