It is sad to see the Grand Bahama Port Authority falling apart at the seams especially when the company has done so much for the Bahamas, particularly Grand Bahama and its citizens.
Since Edward St. George's death, the GBPA has gone through a series of transitions and has been embroiled in much controversy. Before the Port completely falls apart, the administers in the PA must get their acts together.
It is sad, as a Bahamian, when I see self-serving politicians like Philip Galanis creating an uproar that further destabilises the port instead of offering comprehensive solutions, especially considering the economic frailties GB is now experiencing.
It is high time that the government and the port's stakeholders work together in partnership in an effort to save Grand Bahama's economy and stabilise affairs in Freeport. Grand Bahamians have suffered long enough....its time that they see a light at the end of their socio-economic tunnels!
