This raises a question in my mind and prompts a statement.
Question: Is it proper that an Ambassador should be directly involved in political action in a country that he is visiting? This issue has been raised in other quarters when the US Ambassador takes an issue public. So presumably if this behaviour is unacceptable for the US Ambassador, surely it is improper for for the Cuban Ambassador?
Statement: There are hundreds of similar cases of Cuban's reportedly locked up in their homeland without the benefit of a "fair" trial.
One of the good things about America is the rule of law usually prevails. If the government is found wanting in this particular case, they will eventually have to release the men.
Leaders (Political and Business) that think they are above the law eventually fall. Politician Richard Nixon and Businessman Andrew Fastow come to mind.
It’s not quite the same in Cuba is it?
