As I see it, there are three sides to every story....my side, your side and the truth.
Fact is, the actions of both Israel and Hezbollah or even Israel and the militant wing of Hamas can be considered as terrorist acts against each other. However, in this case, when Israel bombs and practically destroys a sovereign country because in it lives a group of militants................condemnation should have quickly followed. And why is it that Israel is allowed to bomb Palestinian ministries? Why are they allowed to capture elected MP's and Cabinet ministers? And what does Uncle Sam do---just stand around condoning this?!!
In the case of Palestine, democracy brought Hamas to government....the USA that claims to push for democracy could not accept the will of the people so it in turn "cut off" the Palestinian government, aid and joined Israel in freezing accounts.
The current actions of Israel is a direct violation of international laws. I agree, the actions of Hezbollah were rogue and provocative. But the Israeli response was disproportionate, condemnible and overly aggressive. Is all this blood shed really needed?
If America is to be the superpower it says it is, it should be fair and step in even when it involves its buddies brutalising another country....that in and of itself played no role in the events that led to these hostilities. But now, there tune is.....Israel must defend itself.........my, my , my.......what if Syria or Iran had done the same in Lebanon? What if a few Mexican hooligans launch missiles into America....would it attack Mexico and all its infrastructure?
