I was at the Rotary meeting in 1969 when Mr. Marquis gave his stirring speech which, if I remember correctly was titled "A Frightened Society".
After reading the recent article in Bahamas Uncensored it would appear that the "new PLP" would like to take us back to that era, with their threats of pulling work permits.
I have never been able to understand why, when they are rightly criticised they immediately pull out the race card. It's a tactic that has really worn very thin - this is 2006!
It reminds me of those people who speak profanity because they cannot speak proper English.
Instead of attacking a fine journalist and a gentleman, accept the criticism, learn from it and move on.
In other words, be a man!
