A recent edition of The Punch tabloid had a brief front page story detailing rumours of boundary changes for the upcoming general elections.
The conjecture was that the Montague and St. Margaret's Constituencies would be combined into one seat.
It is well known that these two seats are considered to be 'safe' seats for the Free National Movement (FNM) (the Opposition), and contain a large percentage of black and white middle class voters at the eastern end of the island.
Of course no political party (the governing Progressive Liberal Party or the FNM) is above gerrymandering, but could this be a deliberate attempt to marginalize the black and white middle class voters in those two areas?
What's your take?
