Just watched ZNS news and the Prime Minister was discussing the commitment of the unions to training and how important training was in relation to the future development of the country. This caused us to reflect on the many times the government was going to implement a proper apprentice system in The Bahamas following either the Canadian or German models.
Maybe it is a good thing that the government has not been successful with their programs as this has forced Bahamians to use their own initiative to get ahead without relying on the government. The diffcult thing to accept is the amount of taxpayer money that has been wasted over the years.
