Mr. Leslie Miller, Minister of (anti) Trade and Industry, reportedly stated he would suspend the licenses of the LPG suppliers if they do not comply with his allowed price, under the Price Control Act.
If this is not evidence enough that a government Minister has too much power if he can suspend a business license without reference to the Courts, we don't know what will convince Parliamentarians of that view.
If the LPG suppliers are breaking the law, there is a process that everyone should follow, and that is the Justice System, not a Ministers coercive prerogative.
