Mr. Leslie Miller, Minister of (anti) Trade and Industry was off on another tirade on the Island FM news this morning we are told.
Reports reaching us are that he said he was embarrassed by the government because they don’t buy Bahamian made goods nor do they force wholesalers and retailers, and by extension, all Bahamian’s to buy them.
In we are told that he said that economic racism is the order of the day in The Bahamas and he was going to change this and put a bill in Parliament to force the purchase of Bahamian made products.
To put it simply, men or women that sit in Mr. Miller’s chair in the future should have at least a minimal understanding of economics. Fox Hill Prison will be overloaded with Bahamians that will purchase what they want from Florida if Mr. Miller has his way.
We should all be reminded that Mr. Miller admitted on public radio not long ago that his Ministry does not even buy Bahamian made goods where they can. The least he should do is set an example.
