Finally a sensible idea is coming out of the governing PLP about the BTC issue - Talk to other people that can offer cell services when the Cable & Wireless monopoly ends in 2014.
All the rhetoric about buying back majority shares in BTC etc is mere symbolism, unless the governing party thinks The Bahamas is a dictatorship of course.
However, now is the time for all those Bahamians that thought BTC should not have been sold to foreigners to get their investors and business plans in place so they can get into the market.
Also, Mr. Marlon Johnson of BTC is correct to say that they are getting ready for the competition they know is coming. That's the right approach.
So while I express qualified enthusiasm for Mr. Christie on this matter, at the end of the day the cellular telephone consumer here should be the winners not some political hack.
