Mr. Foulkes was quoted in the press recently about the number of temporary jobs the Free National Movement (FNM) government have created since late 2008. If my memory serves me correctly the number is 2,500 or 3,000 short term jobs.
Not to downplay things, but if I had control of the public treasury where I can take money from Bahamians at my whim, I could create 3,000 jobs in a heartbeat.
Not having the luxury of being able to dig into peoples pocket books, those of us in the private sector have to sell goods and services that people want or need in order to realise a profit to keep expanding our business by hiring more staff etc.
And we're always told our politicians are our servants.
Go figure???
